Coffee House Reviews and Links
Because of our love of coffee, food and travel we have decided to do something fun.  We are dedicating this
page to the coffee shops, book stores, cafés or restaurants we've been to.  Some of these Kimberly has done a
poetry reading at. Others may just be ones we've stopped at along the way.

Also, check out the links to the left.

Books & Brew - 613 W Madison Ave, Milton, WI  608-868-3371                                                           Layers of Moments is sold here
Set up in a beautifully remodeled feed mill, this warm and delightful bookstore with loft is a place you'll want to spend a whole day
at.  New owner Carla serves delicious Door County coffee.  She has a full coffee bar, homemade treats, soups, sandwiches,
Gray's sodas, and much more.  You'll also find many different kinds of art displayed from local artists (pictures, tapestries,
greeting cards, etc).  Sit on the couch and read a paper, get comfortable upstairs surrounded by shelves of books, sit at a bistro
table and have lunch, or stop in and have Carla whip up your favorite coffee treat.

Absolutely delightful is this quaint and cozy coffee shoppe.  Sisters Linda and Lori run this place and have thought of just about
everything. Starting with the usual coffee drinks (Ancora Coffee), they also have Lakeland Bakery pastries, eclairs and cream
puffs, Elegant Farmer muffins and cookies, gelato, lite lunches, soup of the day, fine gifts and wireless internet.  They also have a
comfortable seating area with fireplace and a television in case you don't want to miss the news.  Visit the link on the left.

Mother Fool's Coffeehouse - 1101 Williamson St, Madison, WI   608-259-1301
Our new Willy St favorite. This spot should be a must when you make a trip to Willy St.  The large front room has a stage and
hosts many types of musical performances.  Owners Stephanie Rearick and Jon Hain, musicians themselves, even have their
own record label Uvulittle Records, featuring a number of their regular performers. They serve a variety of drinks and foods
including Vegan soup. An artsy and cozy back room allows a more quiet retreat and wireless access.

Review of Layers of Moments by reviewer Margaret Lane of Midwest Book Review (www.midwestbookreview.com)  Published in
the March 2007 issue of "Reviewer's Bookwatch."

The work of author and photographer Kimberly A. Blanchette, "Layers Of Moments" combines evocative black and white photos with
prose poetry in a series of images and verses that linger in the mind long after the volume is closed and placed back upon the shelf.
Divided into six categories titled: Depth; Declaration; Connections; Twofold; Awe; and Spiritual, the poetry successfully reflects
Blanchette's twenty years of effort to translate emotion and concept into words and images. "Layers Of Moments" is a welcome and
recommended addition to any personal, academic, or community library Poetry collection, and showcases Kimberly Blanchette as a
unique Wisconsin poet. 'The Voice': the wind so still/A voice cries out/In the wilderness/It is not the Eagle/It is not the Bear/Or the
Coyote/No it is/The voice of man/Howling in silence/The wind so still/A Voice Cries out/In the Wilderness/Silence echoes/Through the
trees/The Eagle, Bear and Coyote look/A reply is heard/It is God's voice/Can you hear it?
Mocha Moment - 1121 Center Ave., Janesville, WI      www.mochamoment.com
One of Janesville's best coffeehouses/cybercafes!  You wouldn't think you're in the city of Janesville when you visit here.  Set back
a good distance from the street, with woods in the back, the view and serenity you feel here is amazing.  Large windows and a
huge deck overlooking the trees allows you to partake in the beauty.  The Dean's hosts all kinds of entertainment here:
musicians, book clubs, private parties, benefits, etc.

Tuscany Italian Restaurant - 1617 Schofield Ave., Stevens Point, WI
This place has the best Italian food we've ever eaten. It's actually better than Olive Garden and about half the price. The
owner is calm and friendly and takes pride in his business. He just wants to share the great food and if he could do it for
free he said he would. But please, we all know a restaurant can't survive giving food away, so give him some business! He
is open 7 days a week and even serves a lunch buffet.
